Job Title:- Wi-Fi device tester
Duration:- 12 + months
Location:- Denver, CO (Onsite)
Job Details:
- Develop and Execute Test Plans: Design, create, and execute comprehensive test plans for WiFi 7 devices, including routers, access points, and client devices. This involves testing both new WiFi 7-specific features and backward compatibility with previous standards (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/axE).
- Specialized WiFi 7 Feature Testing: Conduct in-depth testing on key WiFi 7 features such as Multi-Link Operation (MLO), 320 MHz channels, and 4096-QAM (4K-QAM). You'll validate how these features affect throughput, latency, and reliability in various network conditions.
- Lab Environment Management: Configure and maintain advanced WiFi testbeds that mimic real-world scenarios. This includes setting up complex network topologies, using specialized test equipment like spectrum analyzers and protocol analyzers, and simulating interference and congestion.
- Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis: Identify, reproduce, and diagnose complex issues related to wireless performance, connectivity, and security. Analyze network traffic and logs using tools like Wireshark or OmniPeek to perform deep-dive root cause analysis and provide detailed reports to the development and firmware teams.
- Performance Benchmarking: Conduct performance tests to benchmark our products against competitors and against their stated specifications, specifically for features like multi-gigabit speeds, low latency, and enhanced capacity.
- Documentation and Reporting: Document test results, bug reports, and findings meticulously. Create clear, concise test reports and presentations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in wireless network testing, with a strong emphasis on WLAN protocols.
- Expert knowledge of IEEE 802.11 standards, with a focus on 802.11be (WiFi 7), including an understanding of MLO, 320 MHz channels, and 4K-QAM.
- Hands-on experience with wireless test equipment and network traffic generators.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and debug complex wireless issues at the protocol and packet level.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP, and DNS.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with other wireless technologies like Bluetooth or Cellular.
- Professional certifications such as CWNA, CWNP, or CCNA Wireless.
- Experience with bug-tracking systems (e.g., Jira) and version control (e.g., Git).
- Familiarity with cloud-based test environments and technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.
