Job Details

Windows Platform Engineer, Remote Contract

We are seeking a senior platform engineer in the Windows OS Agile squad, hence you will be a subject matter expert in various technologies and processes related to enterprise client computing.

YOU WILL PROVIDE

  • advanced investigative support for our standard applications and 30 thousand endpoints.
  • in the delivery of new technologies that support and delight the workforce.
  • investigation and resolution for complex client-related incidents, including, but not limited to, blue screens, application crashes, and performance optimization.
  • to create standards and best practices.

YOU EXCEL IN

  • engineering or related roles focusing on desktop Windows-based systems.
  • analytical thinking and problem-solving, you pay attention to the details, identify root causes, and remediate issues.
  • technical information to non-technical stakeholders
  • thinking, identifying opportunities to mitigate issues pending final solutions
  • management interfacing with internal staff at all levels, driving vendors to Engage and act.

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

  • 6+ years of Windows desktop operating systems internals, including an understanding of memory management, I/O subsystems, CPU scheduling, and kernel-level components.
  • in an Agile Environment
  • experience with low-level analytics tools such as Windows Performance Toolkit, WinDbg, process monitor, driver verifier, and enterprise diagnostic tools.
  • working with cross-functional teams to identify performance requirements, define performance testing strategies and implement performance improvements.
  • in scripting and automation using languages like PowerShell, Python, or batch scripting to automate performance testing, data collection, and analysis tasks.
  • track record of diagnosing and resolving performance issues in complex, distributed systems.
  • informative, well-organized demonstrations and data analysis.
  • support for ad-hoc analysis requests.
