Workday HCM Integration Developer

Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Workday HCM Integration Developer to design, build, and maintain integrations between Workday HCM and external systems for our client engagements.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing Workday integrations, deep understanding of HCM business processes, and a client-centric approach to problem solving.
This role will focus on both technical integration delivery and ongoing support, ensuring high-quality solutions within project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy custom integrations using Workday Studio, Workday Core Connectors, Workday EIB, and Workday Web Services API (REST/SOAP).
- Collaborate closely with client stakeholders, business analysts, and functional consultants to translate integration requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Analyze existing system architectures, advise on integration strategy, and proactively identify opportunities for optimization and automation.
- Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and confidentiality standards across integration touch-points.
- Support integration testing, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for data or process issues during implementation and post go-live.
- Develop and maintain supporting documentation for integrations, including technical specifications, data mappings, process flows, and configuration guides.
- Participate in meetings, status updates, and knowledge transfer sessions with both internal and client teams.
- Stay up to date with Workday releases and emerging best practices to continuously improve integration design and performance.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of experience in Workday HCM integration development, with proven delivery of complex interface solutions.
- Proficiency with Workday Studio, EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder), Core Connectors, Document Transformation, and Workday Web Services/API.
- Solid knowledge of XML, XSLT, XPath, JSON, and REST/SOAP API protocols.
- Experience with SFTP, middleware platforms, and HR data structures and process flows.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills; demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team.
- Familiarity with Agile project methodologies, requirements gathering, testing cycles, and production support processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience integrating Workday HCM with systems such as payroll, benefits, time tracking, or third-party vendors.
- Prior consulting experience or demonstrated client-facing project delivery skills.

- This is a client-facing role; strong professionalism, responsiveness, and clear communication are critical.
- Flexibility required for occasional off-hours support during go-lives or urgent incidents.
