Job Details

Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) - Contract - Tampa, FL - $55.00 - $65.00/hr.

The final salary or hourly wage, as applicable, paid to each candidate/applicant for this position is ultimately dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's/applicant's qualifications, skills, and level of experience as well as the geographical location of the position.

Our client is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) in Tampa, FL.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts for functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
Collaborate with software developers to identify test requirements and design test strategies.
Build and enhance test frameworks and tools to improve automation coverage and efficiency.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and early defect detection.
Execute and analyze automated test results, track defects, and report quality metrics.
Participate in code reviews to ensure testability and quality standards.
Provide guidance on best practices for testing and automation.
Continuously improve the QA process through innovation and adoption of new tools/techniques.

Skills & Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Strong programming skills in one or more languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, JavaScript).
Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, TestNG, Junit, NUnit).
Experience with API testing (REST/SOAP) and automated service testing tools (Postman, RestAssured, etc.).
Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) and source control (Git).
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Preferred:
Experience with performance and load testing (JMeter, Gatling).
Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
Experience in Agile/Scrum development environments.
Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
