Duration: 12-Month Contract (Possible Extension)
Hours: Monday Friday (Day Shift, Flexible), with occasional after-hours for network cutovers

Position Overview

We are seeking a Network Systems Analyst to support campus-wide network hardware replacement and infrastructure operations. This role will focus heavily on prepping, replacing, and servicing network switches and routers, including transitioning Cisco networking gear to Extreme Networks equipment. Local candidates only, as this is a fully onsite role.

This position is ideal for candidates with hands-on networking experience new graduates with Cisco or Extreme Networks experience are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Install, replace, and repair network hardware (switches and routers).
Support migration from Cisco to Extreme Networks platforms.
Rack, stack, configure, and manage network, security, wireless, and cloud infrastructure components.
Participate in troubleshooting and incident resolution for hardware, configuration, and connectivity issues.
Provide operational support and feedback to engineering teams for service improvements.
Review network/engineering designs and assist with developing operational procedures.
Serve as a liaison between engineering teams and end users to ensure quality service delivery.
Participate in after-hours maintenance windows (e.g., scheduled cutovers and patching).
Execute service requests such as DNS, DHCP, Certificates, and VIP requests.
Follow IT Service Management best practices (ticketing, communication, change management, time tracking).

Required Skills & Experience

Hands-on experience installing and configuring networking equipment (primarily switches).
Knowledge of Cisco routing and switching; Cisco CCNA or similar foundational networking knowledge is highly valued.
Experience with Extreme Networks equipment is a strong plus.
Ability to troubleshoot hardware, configuration, and networking issues effectively.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with end users and stakeholders.
Ability to follow detailed technical procedures and manage cross-functional tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor s degree in Electronics, Engineering, IT, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
2+ years of experience in network/cloud operations.
CCNA Certification (preferred).
Familiarity with cloud, wireless, security, and enterprise infrastructure environments.
