Sr. Systems Administrator - Contract - Raleigh, NC - $65.00 - $70.00/hr.
The final salary or hourly wage, as applicable, paid to each candidate/applicant for this position is ultimately dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's/applicant's qualifications, skills, and level of experience as well as the geographical location of the position.

Our client is seeking a Sr. Systems Administrator in Raleigh, NC.
Role Description
The Sr. Systems Administrator's primary responsibility is overall maintenance and administration of PHE's datacenter/infrastructure environments, overseeing the infrastructure vertical for the team. These include Azure, Active Directory, email, backups, SAN, virtualization environments, Windows Server, server hardware, and escalation point for Jr. Administrators. The Sr. Systems Administrator also will assist Production Engineers and Network/Security as required.
As a senior member of the Systems Administration team, the Sr. Systems Administrator is responsible for the overall operations of all internal and external production systems and data center software.
Responsible for administration of Azure environment, including overall virtual server and supporting services administration, setup and design, and ensuring high uptime and availability of all systems.
Responsible for uptime of internal data center systems including system virtualization (Hyper-V), Server OS, data center applications, Server Hardware (Cisco UCS), SAN and fabric, backup/recovery, etc.
Ensure software platforms are patched, secured, and operating at peak efficiency.
Knowledge of Microsoft/Office 365 administration, primarily file storage and Teams management.
Develop strategy for internal systems.
Interface with customers as needed as an escalation point for issues.
Manage relationships with other systems administrators to provide redundant knowledge of the overall production environment.
Closely work with application development staff as part of our DevOps team, as needed, to ensure ecommerce site uptime and availability.
Mentor junior administrators to increase in-house system knowledge, and resources.
Create documentation methods to maintain up-to-date documentation on specifics of server configurations.
Participation in on call rotations to deal with system outages on demand as well as escalation availability as required.
Must be able to hold flexible hours to include on-call work after hours as needed
Other duties as defined by management.
Skills & Requirements
Proven experience in overall administration of cloud services (Azure).
Experience administrating on-premises infrastructure environments (Cisco UCS, SAN, Backup environments).
At least 5 years of experience in windows platform administration
Self-motivated person with high drive for complete customer satisfaction
Collaborative team player that possesses a courteous, can-do attitude
Possesses a meticulous and methodical approach to work, ensuring accuracy and consistency
Strong organizational, communication, research, and analytical skills, with the ability to manage complex tasks and collaborate effectively across teams
Proven ability to take ownership of projects from beginning to end with a focus of goals, organization and outcomes
Experience managing and maintaining virtual systems environment
Comprehensive knowledge of data center, particularly Cisco UCS, including servers, SANs, and disk array configurations
Proven understanding of data center architecture and best practices
Cloud Platform: Microsoft Azure
Management of Azure Virtual Machines
Oversight of the entire Azure environment
Recently migrated from a colocation facility to Azure
Azure environment was designed to closely mirror the previous on-prem setup
Includes a virtual database cluster, though the environment is not highly complex
Cisco UCS (Unified Computing System)
HP SAN (Storage Area Network)
Backup Environment: Currently in transition to a new solution
Virtualization: Previously used VMware, but transitioned to Hyper-V due to the Broadcom acquisition of VMware
