We are seeking a highly skilled Public Safety LMR Communications Engineer to support mission-critical communications infrastructure. Your new role
As the LMR Communications Engineer, you will lead engineering efforts for major communications systems projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and specifying current and future communication systems, including computer-assisted command and control systems.
- Advising on equipment selection, procurement, installation, testing, and acceptance of Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems.
- Ensuring compliance with FCC licensing and technical performance standards.
- Coordinating with vendors and contractors to meet technical specifications.
- Supporting Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and Mobile Command Vehicle (MCV) activations.
- Preparing budgets, engineering reports, and conducting communication surveys.
What you'll need to succeed
- Minimum 5 years of experience in telecommunications (700 MHz, 800 MHz, VHF, or 4.9 GHz), including 2 years in radio communications project design and construction.
- Experience with large, multi-site radio and/or microwave networks (conventional and/or trunked systems).
- Valid Florida Driver's License.
- Preferred certifications: NABER and APCO in public safety radio.
- Familiarity with EDACs/Motorola systems, AutoCAD, Visio, and RF propagation tools like RAPTR or ComStudy.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and time management skills.
- Ability to travel throughout Florida and work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
