Genesis10 is currently seeking a Network / System Engineer with our client in the financial industry located in Charlotte, NC, Plano, TX and Pennington, NJ. This is a 12 + month contract position.
Responsibilities: - Communicate regularly with application production support teams, platform engineering teams and level 3 systems operations teams
- Troubleshoot and resolve patch and server failures and escalate where needed
- Quickly identify network or infrastructure related problems and manage the remediation/escalation
- Serve as a bridge in explaining symptoms and troubleshooting performed to global operations teams if necessary
- Develop scripts within BladeLogic to automate operating system patching and updates across multiple systems
- Document and maintain operational procedures
- Develop a close partnership with Global Markets client support and have a working knowledge of their applications
Requirements: - 5+ years of experience with Red Hat Linux 6.x, 7.x OS & Kernel
- 5+ years of experience working with servers in an enterprise environment consisting of 1,500 or more servers
- UNIX/SHELL SCRIPTS
- Linux
- Ansible
- Experience with Solaris
- Excellent attention to detail to follow documented procedures
- Ability to continually offer suggestions to simplify and improve procedures
- Experience and complete working knowledge of operating system base health/welfare and x86 midrange IBM, Client, Dell hardware troubleshooting
- Experience in diagnosing, researching and resolving system platform related issues
Desired skills: - Ansible, Perl, Shell, Python
- Experience with VCS & RHCS clustering solutions for Redhat Linux
- Experience with PXE, 10/40GB, Mellanox, SolarFlare Products and Technology
Pay range: $48.89 - $56.89
