Senior Project Manager - Contract - Bradenton, FL - $53.00 - $57.00/hr.

The final salary or hourly wage, as applicable, paid to each candidate/applicant for this position is ultimately dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's/applicant's qualifications, skills, and level of experience as well as the geographical location of the position.

Our client is seeking an Senior Project Manager in Bradenton, FL.

Role Description

Seeking an IT Project Manager to assume responsibility for the project management of several medium/large projects. These projects will be managed concurrently.
This is a contractor position reporting to the ITS Project Management Office (PMO).
Currently the PMO team works remotely, but the expectation is that the contractor will need to come into the office for occasional team meetings and projects meetings at county sites as needed.

Responsibilities:
Serve as the main contact for the project team (facilitate, coordinate, escalate). Provide overall administration, coordination, communication, and decision-making associated with project activities.
Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with cross-functional stakeholders, project team members, vendors and functional resources.
Follow the MCG PMO processes (based on PMBOK framework), organize the project team, facilitate the team to develop achievable work plans, engage Project Sponsor(s), baseline the project plans, monitor and control project execution, and bring projects to successful closure.
Demonstrate discipline to generate and maintain the documentation for the Project Plans, Project Schedules, Stakeholder Information, Meeting notes, Communications, Project and Business Risks, Project Logs and Project Budgets.
Update weekly project status with appropriate, accurate level of detail in a timely manner.
Communicate and/or escalate risks, changes and issues appropriately to obtain decisions and approval of any items encountered that may jeopardize the project schedule and/or budget.

Skills & Requirements

Stakeholder management - identify, collaborate, communicate, team-building
Process management - follow established processes, recommend improvements, adhere to documentation and follow up
Attention to Detail - clearly communicate details to the right stakeholders, quality check for accuracy and spelling
Team player - communicate with Team lead and team members, build relationships
Technical competency - ability to understand topics enough to interact successfully with internal ITS resources, partners at County agencies and vendors.
Ownership and Responsibility - ability to work with minimal direction and seek assistance when needed
PM - 5-8+ years
Proficient user of Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, Microsoft SharePoint, email and calendaring tools.
Significant experience and related skills in leading project team facilitation in an environment of multiple project phases running concurrently with multiple stakeholders.
Experience in project methodology with efficient and effective conformance to standardized project templates and procedures.
PMP certification or significant understanding of PMBOK concepts.
Experience with construction related projects.
Experience implementing enterprise-wide IT Infrastructure software and hardware projects.
Experience managing specialized and enterprise-wide on-premise and cloud Business Applications.
Experience working with different functional areas (county business departments include a wide variety of services such as water treatment, financial, transit, public safety, library, etc.)
