Your new role
An assistant superintendent at a general contracting firm specializing in historic restoration, renovation, and commercial multifamily construction would typically be responsible for:
- Supporting the Superintendent in managing daily site operations and ensuring projects stay on schedule.
- Coordinating subcontractors to maintain workflow and quality standards.
- Ensuring safety compliance by enforcing regulations and conducting site inspections.
- Assisting with historic preservation efforts, ensuring restoration work meets required standards.
- Monitoring quality control through inspections and documentation.
- Managing schedules and logistics to keep materials and labor organized.
- Troubleshooting issues and adapting to unexpected challenges on-site.
- Communicating with stakeholders to provide updates and maintain project alignment.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience working in the trades or in a Field Engineer/Assistant Superintendent position with another General Contractor
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or relevant field
- OSHA 30 & First Aid/CPR/AED Certified
- Safety awareness to enforce regulations and maintain a secure worksite.
- Technical knowledge of construction processes, materials, and project management tools.
