Job Details

Principal/Architect Security Engineer - Permanent - Remote - $150000.00 - $160000.00/hr.

The final salary or hourly wage, as applicable, paid to each candidate/applicant for this position is ultimately dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's/applicant's qualifications, skills, and level of experience as well as the geographical location of the position.

Our client is seeking a Principal/Architect Security Engineer for a Remote opportunity.

Role Description

Microsoft is seeking a highly skilled Principal Security Engineer with extensive experience in Azure Cloud and architectural expertise. This role is pivotal in ensuring the security and integrity of our cloud infrastructure and applications. The ideal candidate will lead security initiatives, design robust security architectures, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement the best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and implementation of security solutions for Azure Cloud environments.
Develop and maintain security architecture frameworks and guidelines.
Conduct security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle.
Monitor and respond to security incidents, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
Stay updated with the latest security trends, technologies, and threats, and apply this knowledge to enhance security measures.
Mentor and guide junior security engineers, fostering a culture of security awareness and best practices.

Skills & Requirements

Qualifications:
Minimum of 8 years of experience in security engineering, with a focus on Azure Cloud and MSFT products such as Purview, Defender, and o365 Security.
Proven experience in security architecture and design.
Strong understanding of cloud security principles, technologies, and best practices.
Proficiency in security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and vulnerability management.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Technical Skills Required:
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) tools such as Splunk and Sentinel.
Familiarity with network security protocols and technologies (e.g., VPN, SSL/TLS, IPSec).
Knowledge of compliance frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).
Experience with incident response and forensic analysis.
Familiarity with automation and orchestration tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
