Our client is seeking a IT Asset Management in Vienna, VA
Role Description
This role focuses on managing and tracking IT assets throughout their lifecycle to ensure data accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include maintaining records in systems like ServiceNow and CMDB, performing audits, analyzing asset data, supporting asset disposal, and collaborating with teams such as Procurement, Finance, and Security. The position requires 3+ years of experience with asset management tools, strong analytical and communication skills, and familiarity with IT hardware. Desired skills include scripting with PowerShell or Python, knowledge of vulnerability management, and certifications like CHAMP, CSAM, or ITIL Foundation
Maintain accurate records of IT assets (hardware) in the asset management system.
Maintain and improve data integrity in asset tracking systems (e.g., ServiceNow, CMDB).
Assist in the implementation and enforcement of ITAM policies and procedures.
Perform regular audits and reconciliations of asset data to ensure accuracy.
Analyze asset data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
Support disposal and retirement processes for end-of-life assets.
Collaborate with Desktop Support, Procurement, Finance, and Security teams to align asset management with business goals.
Generate reports and dashboards to support decision-making and compliance efforts.
Identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
Lead initiatives for hardware minimization, lifecycle optimization, and cost reduction.
Provide support during internal and external audits related to IT assets.
Compile, research, analyze, and document data, requirements, workflows/processes, functionality, and controls for ISD/ETS groups.
Develop and evaluate information to prepare recommendations based on analysis for decision-making.
Support the functions, projects, and activities of the respective ISD/ETS groups.
Identify and analyze opportunities for new or enhanced processes, data, or technology, providing a clear picture of potential outcomes.
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators, establishing preventative processes and methodologies.
Collaborate closely with Desktop Infrastructure Services, ITAM, CMDB, and ServiceNow team members to enhance Desktop Support Services.
Work with peers, business units, project teams, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure business needs are fully communicated, documented, and met.
Overseeing hardware asset inventory, track and report trends using ServiceNow.
Collaborate with other business units to analyze and improve processing procedures and resolve issues.
Report ITAM initiatives, and ongoing trends to upper management.
Provide daily hardware inventory support, including status updates and checks on procured items.
Test ServiceNow catalog items and catalog enhancements for various Desktop Support Service team efforts.
Regularly establish a schedule for audit checks and validate the accuracy of reporting, documentation, and workflows.
Conduct benchmarking, trend analysis, and other activities to drive continuous improvement and elevate service performance.
Process and submit all hardware logistics requisitions.
Learn and review budgetary management of the cost center within Apptio. See where we can leverage ServiceNow.
Capable of learning, capturing, training, and defining both new and existing processes to the team.
Fundamental understanding of the importance of IT asset management and warehouse management.
Utilize and provide statement of work contracts for larger initiatives involving ITAM.
Skills & Requirements
3+ years of experience in IT Asset Management.
Strong proficiency with asset management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, CMDB, Discovery, HAM Pro).
Good understanding of IT hardware concepts.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Desired Skills
Experience with scripting or automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for asset data processing.
Knowledge of vulnerability management, EOX tracking, and KPI dashboarding.
Ability to lead projects and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Certifications such as CHAMP, CSAM, or ITIL Foundation are a plus.
