UNIX System Administrator (Sr. Unix Linux Engineer) - Contract- Boca Raton, FL- $71.00 -$76.00/hr.

Our client is seeking a UNIX System Administrator (Sr. Unix Linux Engineer) in Boca Raton, FL.
Role Description
UNIX Operations team is searching for a candidate who is proficient within a LINUX (Red Hat). The
ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience within systems administration. This candidate will
provide LINUX support of around 300 servers. We are looking for an effective communicator and a
problem-solving individual with good organizational skills and attention to detail. Responsibility will
encompass operational support of the LINUX estate, system maintenance (OS patching).
Responsibilities:
System tunings to application specific requirements. Systems standardization
and automation.
Keeping the UNIX environment compliant with the technology roadmap, such as OS
& hardware upgrades, 3rd party software upgrades.
Work on incident tickets and resolve in a timely manner.
Remediate Secunia OS vulnerabilities as required by regular security audits.
Perform quarterly patching of RedHat to ensure systems are compliant and pass strict
PCI security requirements as dictated by regular audits from security team.
Interface with IT and business clients at all levels of the organization.
Rotating on-call Unix/Linux support in a 24X7 environment.
Documentation of work.
Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems and related software.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and
reliability of Linux-based infrastructure.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement Linux-based solutions that
meet business needs.
Research and development of new technology as required by business initiatives and
management vision.
Skills & Requirements
10+ years of experience within systems administration providing LINUX support
Must be strongly proficient within LINUX (Red Hat)
Must possess experience with RHEL Linux 8/9 administration and patch management
Must possess experience keeping the UNIX/Linux environment compliant with the technology roadmap, such as OS & hardware upgrades, 3rd party software upgrades
Must possess experience with Linux Server builds and custom configurations
Must possess experience with performance tuning of Oracle database servers
Experienced with Server Security vulnerability management
Experienced with SolarWinds monitoring
Experienced with Ansible playbook development and Ansible Automation Platform management and upgrades
Experience with Satellite 6 management and upgrades
Experienced with VMware operational knowledge
Strong automation skills
Servier migration experience
Strong troubleshooting skills
Solid TCP/IP networking, network topology and firewalled environments.
Excellent communication skills; effective in problem-solving with good organizational skills and attention to detail to interface with IT and business clients at all levels
Able to provide rotating on-call support in a 24x7 environment
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or another related field
Basics in storage, database, and Windows administration
Cloud integration basics.
Veritas NetBackup management basics.
Familiarity with JBoss, WebSphere, Splunk and HP ALM.
