Wi-Fi Engineer IV - Contract - Greenwood Village, CO - $60.00 - $71.00/hr.

The final salary or hourly wage, as applicable, paid to each candidate/applicant for this position is ultimately dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's/applicant's qualifications, skills, and level of experience as well as the geographical location of the position.

Our client is seeking a Wi-Fi Engineer IV in Greenwood Village, CO.

Role Description

Performing planning, forecasting, implementation, and identification of resource requirements for wireless network systems of high complexity. Designs, develops and implements wireless network enhancements and makes recommendations for improvement. Responsible for implementation of wireless network architecture and designs.

Participates in wireless network planning, wireless network architecture design and engineering. Integrates and schematically depicts communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links and protocols into complete wireless network configurations.

Evaluates new products, performs wireless network problem resolution.

Develops and implements approved methods of procedure.

Designs, develops and implements wireless network enhancements and makes recommendations for improvement.

Skills & Requirements

Proficient data wireless networking knowledge (OSI Model, TCP/IP, etc.).

Proficient knowledge of related wireless industry specifications and standards IEEE, ANSI, 802.11 variants, Bridging, Switching, Routing, Ethernet and Transport technologies and protocols.

Proficient knowledge in wireless network design, wireless network architecture, protocols and wireless network topology.

Proficient knowledge of basic wireless network devices and basic wireless network appliances.

Proficient knowledge of wireless network designing software, such as Visio and knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience.

5+ Wireless network experience.

Cisco Certified Wireless network Professional (CCNP ), Wireless industry and vendor specific training (Cisco, Ariss, Ruckus, etc.).

10+ years of experience. Duties: Assist the team with certification of high priority projects such as:

Wi-Fi 7 Cellular Backup, Wi-Fi 7 Extender, Wi-Fi 7 Sercomm, Previous platforms: Wave2, Wi-Fi6, Wi-Fi 6e
Focus on Getting Stuff Done (GSD)
Intrinsically motivated (independent worker that does not need micromanagement)
Collaborative (while work is done independently, success is a team accomplishment - no one works in a silo)
Communication (interpersonal communications, email/webex/documentation, Jira/Chalk)
Emotionally Intelligent (stress/chaos/change mitigation strategies, interpersonal relationships)
Passionate about continuous learning
Ability to think outside the box and is creative!
Curious and resilient
3+ years with Wi-Fi Experience, or related experience working with hardware in a lab/testing environment
Experienced with testing equipment and test methodologies
Able to work on-site in a lab environment
Experience with 802.11 standard
Basic Networking Skills (Network +)
Strong Troubleshooting skills (logic, flow, and attention to detail)
Experience with Linux and/or Command Line functions
Experience working with any MSO, Chipset Provider or Wi-Fi Vendor
Experience with the following testing tools: Ixia, Spirent, Octobox and Rohde & Schwarz
Experience with Conducted and Over the Air Topologies
Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent professional experience
Certification: CWNA, CWS
Python (for assistance in handover to automation team, ad-hoc proof of concept scripts
