Voice Speech Tuning Audio Engineer - Contract - Vienna, VA - $70.00 - $72.43/hr.

The final salary or hourly wage, as applicable, paid to each candidate/applicant for this position is ultimately dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's/applicant's qualifications, skills, and level of experience as well as the geographical location of the position.

Our client is seeking a Voice Speech Tuning Audio Engineer in Vienna, VA

Role Description

Candidate should have several years of experience to get little direction or training--they should understand how to manage the work based on their experience.

Speech IVR - directed dialogue is what they have now, its not IVR
They are guiding the caller through the prompts
They are trying to expand the main IVR to be more natural language/conversation
More like siri, google speech, etc
Needs someone to help tune the NL engine
With IVR, there is a bot translation system that can only read text, not voice
They have an engine that will translate their voice (speech to text) and text processing system will tell the IVR what to do next
Translation of speech to text:
Closed captioning on TVs: systems translate automatically
Banking/financial word specific
Someone that can look at reports on fail points (didn't get a good response or match), analyze, listen to the recordings to where it didn't match and re-train/tune the NLP
Can do analysis, look at reports, listen to recordings and re-tune
Systems: audio cotes (passing audio fields to speech to text) and going to azure bots and sending it back to IVR
Knowledge around AudioCodes and speech to text engines
Need to understand how an IVR gets tuned for natural language
Custom speech: "If you hear this, do this" for brand specific words
Will be working with the azure bot team to look at the data, will be working the azure dev team and AudioCodes vendor to tune the speech on the Microsoft speech to text solution

Skills & Requirements

Ability to listen to calls, review reports, and analyze data to identify areas in Natural Language Processing (conversational banking) that need to be tuned and update the tuning engine.

Individual should have the knowledge and be able to implement changes to the tuning engine after identifying in grammar and out of grammar sets or understanding why the recordings were not transcribed correctly.

Would prefer the individual have skills for understanding how AudioCodes and Microsoft TTS/STT communicate with each other and the tools associated with researching unrecognized speech or false positives to then make proper adjustments to the tuning engine.

Must have in depth knowledge and work experience of how to complete speech tuning in a voice recognition application.

Must have understanding of what to look for in data analysis and recordings to determine best approach for improved recognition

Must be an audio engineer or specialist to be able to make the recommendations to vendor on what needs to be tuned

Needs to understand how to create custom speech and have working knowledge of Microsoft Speech Studio, Microsoft STT/TTS solutions, and preferably knowledge of AudioCodes portal or tuning process.
A Digital Engineer - Voice Testing designs, executes, and automates testing processes to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of voice channel technologies and applications
Expertise in voice technologies (e.g., IVR systems, speech recognition, voice assistants, and AI-driven voice solutions)
Proficiency with voice testing tools
Experience in both manual and automated voice testing, including functionality, performance, and load testing for voice systems
Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders"
