Job Title: Senior Application Programmer
Location: Remote (Louisiana-based position)

Position Overview

The Senior Application Programmer will play a key role in developing, configuring, and administering a custom .NET-based enterprise application. This individual will provide advanced technical expertise, mentor internal technical staff, and ensure that application architecture aligns with state-level standards and enterprise best practices.

The role requires close collaboration with a Technical Architect and a development team operating in an Agile/Scrum environment to design, enhance, and maintain robust and scalable software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, configuration, and administration of a custom .NET application.
Provide mentorship, knowledge transfer, and technical documentation to internal team members.
Conduct code reviews, testing, and performance optimization to ensure quality and compliance.
Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and design sessions.
Collaborate with the Technical Architect to align architecture with enterprise standards.
Deliver high-performing, secure, and scalable application solutions.
Provide technical oversight to maintain consistency, performance, and security across systems.

Mandatory Qualifications & Skills

5+ years of hands-on experience with:
- C#
- ASP.NET Core (6.0 or later)
- MSSQL
2+ years experience in enterprise-level software development.
2+ years working within an Agile/Scrum environment.

Preferred Skills & Experience

Leadership experience in Microsoft-based development projects.
Proficiency with modern front-end frameworks such as Vue, React, Angular, NodeJS, or TypeScript.
Experience designing and developing distributed systems (Microservices/SOA).
Reporting experience using SSRS, Power BI, or Tableau.
DevOps experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Octopus Deploy).
Expertise in Git version control for large-scale systems.
Strong front-end skills with HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
Familiarity with Figma for UI/UX design and prototyping.
RESTful API design and integration experience.
Containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform.
Knowledge of security best practices (OAuth 2.0, JWT, HTTPS/TLS).
Cloud experience with Microsoft Azure or AWS.
Integration with external APIs and modular/microservices architectures.
Experience with message-based systems (e.g., RabbitMQ) and asynchronous programming.
Strong communication, analytical, and collaboration skills.

Work Schedule

Must align with core business hours: 7:00 AM 6:00 PM CT.
May require occasional work on holidays, weekends, or after hours to meet project deadlines.

Deliverables & Compliance

Weekly status reports detailing progress and deliverables.
Submission of timesheets and invoices as required.
Adherence to all applicable network security standards and policies.
Completion of onboarding and security training prior to project start.
Compliance with Confidentiality, HIPAA, and data security requirements.

Additional Responsibilities

Ensure all project-related hardware and software meet security and compliance standards.
Manage and track billable hours within approved task order limits.
Maintain accurate work records for audit and review.
Communicate effectively in English (verbal and written).
Follow all applicable Information Security and IRS Publication 1075 security requirements.
