Application Architect - Contract or CTP- Atlanta, GA - $ 73.08 - $ 73.08/hr.

Skills & Requirements
Must be based in Atlanta, GA, and available to work onsite 3-5 days per week.
Willingness to occasionally travel to client or partner locations within the U.S. as needed.
We are seeking a highly experienced Technical Architect to lead the design and deployment of a scalable, secure, and resilient multi-brand e-commerce platform hosted on Microsoft Azure.
This role will focus on implementing multi-region blue/green deployments across U.S. Azure regions, leveraging ReactJS for frontend, SpringBoot/Java microservices for backend, Redis cache, and Cloudflare for global content delivery and protection.
The ideal candidate will be based in Atlanta, GA, comfortable working onsite, and experienced in driving cross-functional architecture decisions that meet high availability, low-latency, and brand-specific customization requirements
Architecture Ownership: Design and own the technical architecture for a multi-brand e-commerce platform spanning multiple Azure regions (US East, US West, etc.) with blue/green deployment models.
Solution Design & Documentation: Define and document the architecture blueprint including high-level and low- level designs for cloud, web, backend, caching, and CDN layers
Technology Stack Integration.
Architect and oversee integration of the following technologies.
Microsoft Azure: App Services, Azure Front Door, Azure Redis Cache, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)/App Services, Key Vault, Azure Traffic Manager, CosmosDB/PostgreSQL.
Cloudflare: WAF, CDN, DNS routing, bot mitigation.
Frontend: ReactJS (Micro Frontends optional).
Backend: Java/Spring Boot Microservices with CI/CD.
Caching: Azure Redis for session management and application-level caching.
Multi-Region Deployment Strategy: Define the blue/green and canary release strategies, active-active/active-passive architecture, and disaster recovery (DR) setup across regions.
Performance, Scalability, and Security: Lead design reviews to optimize for scale, response times, SEO readiness, and compliance with PCI/SOC2 standards.
Collaboration & Leadership: Act as the technical lead and mentor for engineering teams; collaborate with DevOps, Product Owners, QA, and UX teams to ensure architectural integrity.
Onsite Engagement: Work onsite in Atlanta with cross-functional teams and client stakeholders to translate business goals into scalable technical solutions.
10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture with hands-on development background.
Proven experience in e-commerce platforms, preferably multi-brand or white-label architecture.
5+ years experience in Azure architecture and services deployment, with strong focus on multi-region resiliency.
Expertise in ReactJS (componentization, SSR preferred), SpringBoot, and microservices architecture.
Strong experience in Cloudflare setup, Redis caching patterns, and web performance optimization.
Experience in CI/CD pipelines for blue/green deployment (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, etc.).
Understanding of SEO, accessibility, page speed, and mobile-first design principles.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
Experience with headless commerce, MACH architecture, or composable commerce patterns.
Familiarity with observability tooling (App Insights, Azure Monitor, New Relic, Datadog).
Experience with GraphQL or BFF layer in micro-frontend setup.
