HPC/VMWare Systems Optimization Specialist - Contract - Remote - $45.00 - $65.00/hr.
The final salary or hourly wage, as applicable, paid to each candidate/applicant for this position is ultimately dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's/applicant's qualifications, skills, and level of experience as well as the geographical location of the position.

Our client is seeking a HPC/VMWare Systems Optimization Specialist in for a remote opportunity.
Role Description
Seeking a short-term contractor to assist with optimizing the setup of their High Performance Cluster (HPC) and simulation server environment, which operates on VMWare. The ideal candidate will have experience with HPC infrastructure, virtualization technologies, and performance tuning. This role involves collaborating with our engineering director and their team-who are the primary power users of the system-to assess current configurations and implement improvements for enhanced performance and efficiency.
Evaluate and optimize the current HPC and simulation server setup
Identify performance bottlenecks and recommend solutions
Collaborate with engineering teams to understand usage patterns and requirements
Implement best practices for VMWare-based HPC environments
Skills & Requirements
Proven experience with HPC systems and VMWare
Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
Availability for short-term, contract-based work
Based in or near Raleigh/Apex, NC.
