Job Title: Senior Database Administrator
Location: Lansing, MI (Hybrid - 2 days onsite per week)

Job Description:

Administer, maintain, and optimize SQL Server 2016+ databases across on-prem and Azure environments.
Configure and manage Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure VMs.
Implement and maintain HA/DR solutions including Always On Availability Groups, geo-replication, and point-in-time restore.
Ensure database security through Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and compliance with state standards.
Monitor database performance and perform tuning, indexing, and optimization.
Perform database patching, upgrades, and migration to newer versions or cloud environments.
Develop and maintain automation scripts for database maintenance and backups.
Support application teams in database design, performance improvement, and issue resolution.
Participate in on-call rotation and provide production support as needed.
