Job Description: SAP Technical Lead / Architect
Experience: 8+ Years
Location: Remote
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (Conversion after 4 months)
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced SAP Technical Lead / Architect with strong expertise in SAP ECC development and integrations. The ideal candidate will lead SAP technical design and delivery, focusing on IDoc enhancements, ABAP development, and system integrations, while collaborating closely with functional and business teams. This role also includes mentoring junior consultants and ensuring high-quality SAP technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead SAP development and integration initiatives, with a strong focus on IDoc enhancements (e.g., ORDER05, DELFOR02, DELVRY07) and custom order types (e.g., ZE14, LZM, TAM).
- Design, develop, and enhance ABAP objects, including Function Modules, BAPIs, BADIs, RFCs, custom reports, and forms.
- Configure and manage ALE and RFC destinations (SM59), partner profiles, and distribution models.
- Collaborate with business users and functional consultants to gather requirements and translate them into technical SAP solutions.
- Map SAP ECC tables such as VBAK, VBAP, LIKP, VBBE to IDoc segments, including custom fields, validations, and enhancements.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and support interface flows using SAP CPI / PI / PO and SAP tools like WE02, WE05, WE19.
- Participate in or lead end-to-end SAP project delivery, including design, development, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.
- Mentor junior SAP consultants and coordinate work across onshore and offshore teams.
- Manage incidents, change requests, performance tuning, and production support activities.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, interface specifications, and training materials.
- Ensure adherence to SAP best practices, quality standards, and project timelines.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of SAP ECC technical experience, including at least two full-cycle SAP implementations.
- Strong hands-on experience in ABAP, IDoc enhancements, BAPI, RFC, ALE, and data migration tools (BDC, LSMW).
- Experience working with SAP CPI or SAP PI/PO for integration monitoring and support.
- Functional knowledge of SAP SD, MM, PP, and FI modules and their integration points.
- Proven leadership experience managing SAP technical teams and coordinating with stakeholders.
- Expertise with SAP development and support tools such as SE80, SE11, ST22, SM59, WE19, and related utilities.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
- Experience working in global delivery models and cross-functional teams.
