SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Development Engineer II to join our dynamic Zappos at Work (ZAW) team. You will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and delivering high-quality features and applications that support the ZAW program. Your deep expertise in web development technologies and eCommerce platforms will be instrumental in driving the success of our projects.

ZAW is a B2B2C program that helps our B2B clients keep their employees safe, compliant, and engaged through footwear, apparel, uniform and PPE programs. Our B2C customers are their employees, who experience the ZAW portal first-hand. We are dedicated to providing both our B2B and B2C customers with the best-in-class experience Zappos pioneered.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Plan, scope, and develop features and applications that support the ZAW program, such as building two entirely new site experiences, one for B2B and one for B2C, which includes an entirely new eCommerce site and experience.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, such as engineering, sales, marketing, and customer service, to gather requirements, design architecture, and deliver high-quality software solutions that meet business needs.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and growth.
  • Utilize your extensive experience in cloud services, such as AWS, Azure, etc., to architect, deploy, and manage scalable and reliable cloud-based solutions.
  • Optimize application performance, identify bottlenecks, and propose and implement effective solutions.
  • Ensure code quality through code reviews, automated testing, and best practices in software engineering.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously enhance the development process and architecture.
  • Communicate effectively, collaborate with others, and influence decisions that align with the technology strategy and design
  • Fill in the gaps with certain product requirements and proactively seek technological solutions that allow for scaling and future forward thinking
  • Cope with uncertainty and risk, and make decisions and act without having the total picture.


WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
  • At least five (5) years of experience as as software engineer, with a strong track record of developing and delivering enterprise-grade applications.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with AWS services, such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, CloudFormation, DynamoDB, and RDS.
  • Experience with DevOps tools and practices, such as CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
  • Solid understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and seek direction when needed.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.


WHAT REALLY WOWS US
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Developer).


This role is open to candidates physically located in the following metropolitan statistical areas: Austin, TX; Las Vegas, NV; New York, NY; and Seattle, WA. Candidates who are not physically located in one of these areas may not be considered for this role.

The base pay range for this position is $153,000-174,000 per year ; however,

base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, a full range of medical and other benefits is offered.
