Our client is seeking a Engineer Network Tools and Automation Engineering in - New York, NY

Role Description

The Network Tools and Automation Engineer will play a critical role in the planning, design and execution of network automation platforms and tools in support of Mizuho network transformation strategy. This role provides expert technical direction in automation efforts for the network Infrastructure organization. This role will have the overall responsibility of producing and implementing automation framework and network tools strategy as well as developing processes and enablement/training within the Internal network services organization. This role will help amplify network capabilities by enabling analytics and automation to drive operational efficiencies in the environment. This role will focus on network-wide performance and capacity projects and will be required to work cross-functionally with several teams to ensure optimal operation and growth of the Mizuho network infrastructure. The role will partner closely with network product and platform owners including MSPs and other suppliers and will translate business requirements and functional specifications into technical requirements that continuously improve the entire suite of network services for brining improvements in network availability, reliability and network performance. This role will also be responsible for assisting with the design, implementation, participate in day-to-day operations of network automation and tools platforms, and troubleshooting efforts and will be directly accountable for the results for these critical network platforms.

Assist in the development and execution of the end-to-end network automation framework
Assist in the development and execution of the end-to-end network tools strategy
Identify new capabilities that can bring network operational efficiencies
Create documentation including administrative procedures/instructions for enabling automation into the environment
Work closely with our internal customers to help alleviate their problems and ensure our network continues to meet their demands.
Work on new designs/solutions related to automation; bringing them from concept to working operations
Document network monitoring toolset support processes and procedures
Lead network monitoring tool upgrades and changes in production environment
Review and implement changes on the network through automation and orchestration solutions.
Drive operational excellence projects to make improvements in our network quality and reliability.
Troubleshoot complex problems and develop innovative solutions leveraging automation framework for day-to-day operations
Define and document best practices and support procedures
Mentor / cross-train team members to use and understand automation and tools processes

Skills & Requirements

Previous experience with design and deployment of large-scale network automations solutions
Must have experience with automation of network devices (routers, switches, protocol mediation devices) using Ansible, Python and other automation scripting tools. Familiarity with automation platforms and frameworks
Participate in the peer review process by reviewing projects, design, and code for various network automation projects
Previous experience with design and implementation of industry leading monitoring tools and technology
Strong knowledge in the areas of fault monitoring, capacity management, configuration management, and performance management
Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
Record of strong project management and time management skills
Strong knowledge of Network architecture best practice and experience designing with and integrating cloud-based services into production
Key Skills: project management, communication, coding language, network development, network architecture, cloud-based services, agile development.
Demonstrated ability to develop infrastructure lifecycle management strategies to manage performance, capacity, availability, reliability and new service introduction of network infrastructure services.
Proven ability to partner with infrastructure, security, application, and business leaders to provide technology solutions that respond to rapid changes in the business and ensure exceptional end-user experience
Bachelor's degree in Technical or engineering, or computer science or equivalent experience.
10+ years of experience supporting computer networks in a mission-critical environment.
3+ years of experience with supporting network automation tools in
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment supporting real-time market data and trading.
Certification and/or training with vendor-neutral or vendor-specific focus.
OS: Linux & Windows.
Hardware: Cisco ACI, Cisco routers and switches, Fortinet firewalls, web proxies, F5 LTM/ GTM
Applications: Cisco ISE, BlueCAT DDI, SSL/PKI, Splunk, Extrahop, Itential
Experience with OpenShift a plus
Frontend Development a plus
Software Development Tools: Python, Ansible, Git, CI/CD, APIs
