Lead Atlassian Developer - Contract - Sanford, NC - $90.00 - $100.00/hr.
The final salary or hourly wage, as applicable, paid to each candidate/applicant for this position is ultimately dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's/applicant's qualifications, skills, and level of experience as well as the geographical location of the position.

Our client is seeking a Lead Atlassian Developer in - Sanford, NC
Role Description
We are seeking a hands-on Software Lead with strong Atlassian expertise to lead development efforts in an agile environment. This role will focus on customizing and rebuilding our Help Desk platform from the ground up, creating a tailored user experience beyond the standard out-of-the-box solution.
Serve as the Lead Atlassian Developer, driving design and development of workflows, automation, and customizations.
Collaborate with productivity solutions team, which manages O365, Copilot, and Atlassian Suite.
Work closely with another consultant (part time consultant who is working 10 hrs/week) for ideation while this contractor will be the primary technical doer.
Redesign the IT Connect Help Desk platform for a modern, user-friendly interface.
Lead development using Jira, Confluence, and related Atlassian tools.
Apply agile principles to manage project milestones and deliverables.
Mentor junior team members (e.g., Jeremy) and ensure best practices in development.
Skills & Requirements
Expertise in Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence) and workflow automation.
Strong programming skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, Python.
Proven experience in custom platform development (not just configuration).
Ability to work independently and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving mindset and proactive approach.
