BACKGROUND

Our client is a dynamic enterprise that has become the market leader in several prepared meat-based meal and snack categories. Our client is building on this track record through complementary acquisitions and a growing number of business development initiatives.

They are based in Norwood, Massachusetts, which is comfortably within the Boston metropolitan area. Our client is focused on continued growth and are executing against various initiatives that include additional product lines, new sales channels, greater penetration of our extensive customer relationships, as well as opportunistic acquisitions.  

OVERVIEW OF ROLE

Our client is looking for a System Analyst to support multiple business applications currently implemented. The successful candidate will work very closely with the Sr. Manager of Business Applications along with the rest of the IT team to manage existing business information systems, make updates and upgrades to the systems including continuous improvement initiatives as well as support end users to help make the day-to-day processes more efficient. Addressing the data and reporting requirements from different departments will be a key function of the job. This new member of the team will also have other responsibilities like implementing new systems and managing the customizations/requirements. The role may require evening and occasional weekend work, when required by the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Business application support – Daily maintenance and support for end user issues 
  • IT continuous improvement – Enhancing business applications software (hands-on configuration) to improve support of business processes
  • Manage vendor work to implement enhancements and support requests 
  • Key business applications currently include: Microsoft NAV 2018 (ERP), AFS (trade Funds Management), Loftware (Labels), Kuebix (Transportation), Megamation (Maintenance), MES (Shop Floor Mechanical Execution System), JET (Reporting), PowerBI
  • Key Future Systems: ERP Upgrade, Advanced Planning and Optimization, Advanced Warehouse Management, MRP

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Technical:
    • ERP (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, SAP) working/configuration/development experience (2-4 years), Microsoft NAV or Business Central preferred
    • SQL Server database experience (1-2 years)
    • Experience in one or multiple areas below (2-4 years total)
      • Order to Cash expertise 
      • Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) 
      • Shop floor manufacturing experience, MES software is a plus
      • Warehouse Management System experience 
      • Manufacturing industry experience, CPG and Food is a plus
      • Trade Funds Management and Finance knowledge 
    • Good knowledge of working with MS Office suite of products
    • Experience & knowledge of report writing tools (JET and Microsoft Power BI is a plus) 
    • Ability to coordinate as necessary with outside technical support providers/consultants
  • Experience with, aptitude for, and/or dedication to:
    • Quick learning and keeping technical skills up-to-date
    • Efficient, conclusive internet research
    • Troubleshooting
    • Reading, following, writing, and improving detailed instructions
  • Non-technical:
    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Proficiency in English; excellent written and oral communication skills
