Key Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to post-surgical and stepdown-level patients, including those with complex head and neck cases, flaps, drains, and ventilator support.
Monitor and manage patients requiring cardiac telemetry, drips, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
Administer medications and manage infusions accurately, adhering to hospital protocols.
Collaborate closely with surgeons, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe and effective patient recovery.
Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately using EPIC EMR.
Educate patients and families on post-operative care, equipment use, and discharge instructions.
Uphold infection control and safety standards at all times.
Participate in unit-based initiatives and continuous quality improvement efforts.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Active New York State (NYS) RN License in good standing.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Minimum 2 years of Stepdown experience with surgical patients required must include experience with:
Flaps, Vents, Drips, Drains, and Head & Neck surgical patients.
Must be clearly listed on resume for consideration.
Minimum 2 years of total RN experience required.
Experience with Cardiology, Telemetry, and Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) patients preferred.
EPIC EMR experience highly preferred.
Excellent clinical judgment, adaptability, and communication skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
