About the Role:
Our client, a premier state conservation agency, is seeking a highly experienced and certified Senior Project Manager to lead the transformation of two of its core strategic priorities focused on Diversity, Equity, and Access. This role is critical to ensuring the agency reflects the diversity of California and delivers equitable access to its program's benefits for every citizen. The successful candidate will work directly with Executive Leadership to govern, plan, execute, and implement full-scale transformational projects.

This role is critical to ensuring the agency reflects the diversity of California and delivers equitable access to its program's benefits for every citizen. The successful candidate will work directly with Executive Leadership to govern, plan, execute, and implement full-scale transformational projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide end-to-end project management services to achieve the full transformation of strategic initiatives focused on diversity, inclusion, and equitable access.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive project management tools, templates, policies, and procedures.
- Manage complex project budgets, ensuring deliverables are met within scope and financial constraints.
- Collaborate directly with agency Executive Leadership and key stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Lead project planning, scheduling, risk management, and progress reporting.
- Ensure projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately throughout the project lifecycle.
- Diversity & Inclusion: Leading projects that ensure the agency and its programs reflect the rich diversity within the state and the communities it serves.
- Equitable Access: Managing initiatives dedicated to breaking down barriers and delivering access to program benefits for every citizen.
- A Bachelor's degree AND a valid, current Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI). The PMP certification may not be substituted.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience within the last ten (10) years in developing project management tools, templates, and policies and procedures.
- A minimum of two (2) years of project management experience within the last ten (10) years working on projects with at least a $500,000 budget for government agencies (with at least a $150 million department annual budget).
- This experience must include work in workforce development and policy, and performance management.
- At least one (1) year of this experience must have been in a lead capacity.
