This is a 2nd Shift position which includes an 8% shift premium.

Manufacturing Engineers learn production operations and the manufacturing discipline in a controlled environment. They develop manufacturing engineering skills alongside their team; internalize an understanding of safety, quality, delivery, and cost; and use Raytheon systems and tools to create innovative and unique solutions to today s manufacturing challenges. Manufacturing Engineers build technical depth into manufacturing processes and are accountable for improvement and optimization.

Primary responsibilities include developing the comprehensive manufacturing process for sheet metal, hardware installation, and large aluminum structural assembly for various radar, integrated sensor, and effector programs. The candidate will create manufacturing instructions, develop inspection plans, and create detailed operator instructions. They will also assess process failures, disposition non-conforming hardware, and create and execute robust Root Cause/Corrective Action plans to permanently solve problems. This position requires close cooperation with the Operations team and other engineering disciplines. The desired candidate will possess excellent communication skills and be capable of working in a dynamic team environment.

What You Will Do
\n
\n - \n
Translate engineering design requirements into formal manufacturing process documentation, including inspection planning, sheet metal fabrication, hardware installation, finishing requirements, and structural assembly instructions.
\n - \n
Support process improvements using data analysis, application of best practices, and by implementing innovative solutions to improve process capability and decrease cost.
\n - \n
Design, control, and improve the manufacturing process through collaboration with a multi-disciplined team.
\n - \n
Perform process development on new product introductions with an accelerated time to market.
\n - \n
Support continuous improvement initiatives and document standard methodologies.
\n - \n
Review dimensional inspection data and statistical process control (SPC) data to identify and address potential defects before they occur.
\n - \n
Troubleshoot manufacturing issues alongside Quality and Operations personnel and apply CORE/6-sigma methods to determine Root Cause and apply Corrective Actions.

Qualifications You Must Have
\n
\n - \n
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and a minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience.
\n - \n
Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, hardware installation, and structural assembly techniques.
\n - \n
Experience correctly interpreting engineering drawings, including ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensions and Tolerances as well as typical government and industry specifications.
\n - \n
The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

Experience in creating manufacturing processes for complex large aluminum structural assemblies (bolted, welded, and/or riveted), sheet metal fabrication, and hardware installation.

Demonstrated working knowledge of Creo CAD Software.
\n - \n
Process familiarity with paint and plating processes.
\n - \n
Results-oriented focus on past projects to evaluate success.
\n - \n
Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude.
\n - \n
Knowledge and ability to apply CORE principles and techniques.
\n - \n
Active DoD Security Clearance.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
