Basic Requirements:
- Security+ Cert
- 15 years of experience as a System Administrator
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
- 5 additional years of experience as a System Administrator may be substituted for a degree
Job Description:
- The System Administrator shall be responsible for providing support for a large-scale Linux system including installation of COTS/GOTS/FOSS software, day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all the compute, network, memory, and storage system components.
- In addition, the System Administrator shall maintain the system security integrity and configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
Required Experience:
- Experience using the Linux CLI
- Experience developing scripts using Bash/Python
- Experience in performing System Administration including installation, configuration, and support of COTS/GOTS/FOSS software in a large-scale Linux cluster environment
- General technical knowledge regarding compute, network, memory, and storage system components
- Experience with Red Hat Satellite systems management solution
- Familiarity using Splunk for ingesting, indexing, searching, monitoring, and analyzing big data
- Experience with the sustainment and support of large Linux clusters including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution
- Experience configuring and sustaining VMware ESXi/Virtualization environments
- Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) principles and automation tools such as SaltStack and Ansible
- Experience with corporate STE/STN security compliance policies and procedures
- Experience using system monitoring tools such as HPE One View and Nagios
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
Desired Experience:
- Experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes
- Experience with distributed files systems such as Weka, CEPH, GPFS, and HDFS
- Experience with the Atlassian Suite of Tools such as Jira and Confluence
Salary: $235,000 - $245,000 annually
