Location: Arlington, Virginia (Onsite)
COMPENSATION: $23 - $33 HOURLY
Role Overview
This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of desktop computers, peripherals, software, and related systems. The role involves providing in-person hardware support for laptops running Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems. Responsibilities include the timely resolution of issues affecting hardware, software, and user permissions, as well as routine hardware maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hardware support for Windows, Linux, and Mac laptops.
- Engage with customers in person to resolve technical issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve AV equipment problems.
- Perform PC repair, troubleshooting, deployment, and liquidation tasks.
- Deliver IT client, server, and network services.
- Troubleshoot issues within a multi-user, high-availability environment.
- Maintain a strong focus on customer service and proactive support.
- Safely lift up to 50 lbs as required.
Required Qualifications
Education: BS Degree in computer science or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Experience: 3-6 years of relevant work experience.
Technical Skills:- Experience supporting Windows XP/7 and Server operating systems in a managed desktop environment.
- Knowledge of networking concepts, including DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP.
- Detailed knowledge of basic computer concepts, PC hardware, software troubleshooting, and workstation hardware.
- Basic working knowledge of Linux/UNIX systems at a user level.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Macintosh OS X (10.4 and higher).
- Microsoft MCSA/MCSE certification.
- Additional vendor administrator level certifications, such as Apple ACMT/ACSP and Cisco CCNA.
