StaffRight Associates is sourcing for a premier chemical manufacturing partner to recruit a high-impact Mechanical Integrity Engineer for their facility in the Ashtabula, Ohio area. In this pivotal capacity, you will serve as the primary site Asset Engineer, directing the overall strategy, continuous enhancement, and regulatory compliance of critical physical assets and protective systems. Operating within a Process Safety Management (PSM) environment, you will drive operational safety, equipment longevity, and system dependability while collaborating cross-functionally across operations, maintenance, and safety teams.
Architect, execute, and direct comprehensive site asset protection programs for critical infrastructure and protective systems.
Champion complete alignment with regulatory mandates, local and national engineering codes, and internal operational benchmarks.
Preserve detailed records and compliance documentation covering regulated equipment and pressure containment units.
Deliver expert technical leadership on equipment modifications, structural repairs, and original designs to meet all governing standards.
Act as the subject matter authority for regulatory reviews and technical inquiries concerning plant infrastructure and design compliance.
Curate and refine the facility register of essential process assets and protective devices.
Formulate targeted inspection intervals and diagnostic strategies tailored to high-priority machinery.
Evaluate inspection data to determine baseline asset health, addressing potential vulnerabilities with targeted remediation strategies.
Synthesize proactive equipment care methodologies and standard operating procedures to elevate functional longevity.
Administer predictive and preventive asset preservation programs tailored for mechanical soundness.
Partner with production and maintenance units to diagnose persistent reliability challenges and implement engineering upgrades.
Lead comprehensive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations following operational interruptions or hardware malfunctions.
Spearhead yearly physical asset evaluations to inform capital planning and long-term asset life projections.
Offer deep technical guidance regarding pressure vessels, piping networks, storage tanks, and degradation mechanisms.
Integrate Process Safety Management principles seamlessly into day-to-day equipment handling and asset preservation tasks.
Champion rigorous behavioral safety protocols, investigate near-miss incidents, and implement permanent corrective actions.
Collaborate with process engineers and technical staff to streamline manufacturing efficiency and system reliability.
Educational background consisting of a Bachelor's Degree In Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Civil Engineering.
5+ years of industrial operational experience, ideally within a Chemical Process Manufacturing, Petrochemical, or Refining facility.
3+ years focused on Mechanical Integrity, Reliability Engineering, Industrial Inspection, or related technical disciplines.
Solid working familiarity with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) guidelines and structural compliance mandates.
Strong command of Recognized And Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP) and chemical sector standards.
Functional knowledge of Damage Mechanisms, Corrosion Monitoring, Piping Infrastructure, and Pressure Vessels.
Demonstrated skill in selecting Non-Destructive Testing Methods, diagnosing asset degradation, and executing corrective solutions.
Expertise applying ASME Standards, Maintenance Engineering, and Predictive Maintenance Methodologies.
Hands-on experience utilizing CMMS/EAM Systems (with specific SAP proficiency preferred).
Familiarity with Inspection Data Management Systems (IDMS), preferably PCMS.
Practical mastery of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies and complex problem-solving.
Proven leadership and communication aptitude to influence cross-functional operations and safety teams without direct authority.
Base Salary: $120,000 – $145,000 per year
Incentive: 20% Annual Bonus Target
