PowerEdge Rack/Tower

Introduction

As a PowerEdge Rack/Tower specialist, you will be responsible for supporting day-to-day data center activities and ensuring the smooth operation of server environments. This role requires a strong understanding of PowerEdge servers, IDRAC, RHEL, and experience working in a larger server environment.

Responsibilities

Monitor and proactively walk the data center, alerting the customer of any issues such as amber lights or "hot" doors.
Escort dispatched field engineers as needed for on-site support.
Manage LOIS parts and maintain documentation of the server environment including serial numbers, elevations, and runbooks.
Coordinate with customers for maintenance activities such as power maintenance, cooling maintenance, and containment wall maintenance.
Perform BIOS lifecycle management, add users, and apply patches as required.
Collaborate with Dell support for scheduling FSE break/fix activities.
Work under the direction of the customer team to update server versions as needed.

Requirements

Required Skills:

PowerEdge Rack/Tower experience
IDRAC experience
RHEL and Ubuntu OS knowledge
Experience working in a larger server environment

Preferred Skills:

Data center experience
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve server issues
Knowledge of server hardware and networking
Strong communication and coordination skills
