About the roleThe Software Engineer on the Content Ingestion team will design, build, and maintain ingestion pipelines that process millions of assets from linear feeds and multimedia files, powering real-time content matching, recommendations, and advertising insights for Roku's ACR (Automatic Content Recognition) platform. This role focuses on full-stack operations across cloud and on-premises environments, including creating APIs, batch jobs, and infrastructure using AWS and Google Cloud Platform. The engineer will serve as a key liaison between US-based content partners and the engineering team in Seoul, South Korea, ensuring smooth data flow and partner communication. Day-to-day work includes setting up instances, managing deployments, implementing monitoring and observability, and participating in on-call rotations for critical production services. The ideal candidate brings 1-3 years of hands-on engineering experience with a strong foundation in cloud operations, DevOps, and scripting. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to make a meaningful impact on a globally distributed platform reaching millions of households.
