Imagine what you can do here. Apple is a place where extraordinary people gather to do their lives best work. Together we create products and experiences people once couldn't have imagined, and now, can't imagine living without. It's the diversity of those people and their ideas that inspires the innovation that runs through everything we do.
Description
APPLE INC has the following available in Austin, Texas. Develop the next generation of Mac and iPad devices and interact with engineers across many disciplines in the company. Collaborate with design, marketing, software, and technology partners to invent new product forms and features. Analyze static and dynamic structures to quantify fundamental device performance. Participate in the development of new manufacturing and assembly processes with external vendors. Validate and characterize designs through multiple iterations. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or related position.
1 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:
Utilizing 3D Computer Aided Drafting, including Unigraphics/NX, to create 3D models and 2D documentation for individual parts and assemblies.
Utilizing GD&T to clearly define critical part dimensions based on manufacturing capabilities and assembly tolerance requirements.
Leveraging simplified mechanical modeling of complex systems for first past hand calculation of design parameters and requirements.
Using DFMEA and FMEA analysis encompassing design, manufacturing, mechanical / environmental reliability and customer experience/satisfaction to inform design decisions and risks.
Providing detailed modeling for complex FEA analysis, followed by in-depth interpretation of FEA results to refine the FEA, the design, and/or the boundary conditions.
Utilizing data visualization tools, including JMP, to communicate mechanical testing and part/system performance metrics.
Utilizing presentation software, including keynote, to clearly communicate complex mechanical designs, risk ratings, reliability and test results, and design trade-offs.
Determine the best manufacturing method from an array of available techniques (including but not limited to: CNC, stamping, forming, casting, injection molding, 3D printing) by identifying part requirements and balancing cost, quality and system reliability.
