Job#: 3047455 Job Description:Description:Working Model: 100% Remote WorkOverviewWe are looking for a seasoned telecom systems contractor to support the Network Facilities Optimization & Decommission (NFOD) program. This role is focused on applying deep operational knowledge of Telcordia-based inventory and provisioning systems to help scale automation, improve data quality, and accelerate systems development in support of client facility decommission. You will work closely with internal engineering and analytics teams to translate network domain expertise into actionable workflows and automated solutions - and serve as a go-to resource for cross-functional teams navigating complex circuit and facility data.
Core Responsibilities- Serve as subject matter expert on Telcordia systems (TIRKS, LFACS, Switch OS, SOAC) and their data models, workflows, and interdependencies
- Support automation development by translating complex network inventory and provisioning processes into structured business and system requirements
- Leverage IVAPP and Nautilus (IEN) knowledge to validate circuit data, identify gaps, and improve cross-system reconciliation
- Apply OSP/IOF expertise to support facility-level decommission analysis - copper, fiber, interoffice routes, and associated circuit inventory
- Utilize NAR data to support circuit utilization tracking, decom modeling, and facility exit planning
- Partner with analytics and development teams to design scalable workflows that reduce manual effort across inventory, billing, and decommission processes
- Support legacy transport migration planning and circuit hierarchy analysis across optical and TDM networks
- Build and maintain working relationships across cross-functional teams; clearly communicate complex network concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Review and validate data outputs from automated systems against known network configurations and operational norms
- Document system-to-system data flows, provisioning workflows, and decommission decision logic
Required Skills- Telcordia systems (expert): TIRKS, LFACS, Switch OS, SOAC - deep familiarity with data models, record structures, and operational workflows
- NAR: circuit utilization, data mining, and decom modeling
- IVAPP: provisioning and service profile data, circuit-to-facility relationships
- Nautilus / IEN: trail-level network data, interoffice facility and circuit relationships
- OSP/IOF (extensive): outside plant and interoffice facility design, assignment, and retirement workflows
- Business/systems analysis: ability to document complex processes, write requirements, and bridge network operations and technical development teams
- Communication: superior written and verbal skills; able to translate complex network data into plain language for stakeholders and leadership
- Data fluency: comfortable working with large structured datasets, validating records, and identifying anomalies without needing to write code
Nice to Have- Experience supporting network decommission or consolidation programs
- Legacy transport migration planning experience
- Familiarity with AI tools (Claude, Gemini, or similar) for automation and efficiency
- Experience with Smartsheet or Canvas for project tracking and reporting
- Familiarity with Python or SQL for data validation and ad-hoc queries
- Familiarity with BPMN or structured process notation
Education & Certifications- Bachelor's degree or four or more years of relevant work experience
- Six or more years of relevant telecom industry experience
- Advanced degree or certification in Telecommunications, Network Engineering, or Project Management a plus
What Success Looks LikeYou know these systems well enough to spot when something is wrong before anyone tells you - and you can explain why it's wrong in plain language to someone who has never seen a circuit record. You accelerate the team by reducing the gap between what the data says and what the network actually looks like, and you help build processes that don't need to be re-explained every time someone new joins.
