Role Overview
We are seeking a Systems Engineer to join a team building the next generation of combat aircraft and the necessary infrastructure for testing and design validation. The successful candidate will provide engineering expertise, develop statements of work, and offer technical and integration leadership for program development and execution. This role involves shaping system requirements, guiding integration and verification, and influencing architecture to meet operational needs in a multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support system architecture development and decomposition using MBSE (SysML/Cameo) to define interfaces, functions, and allocations.
- Maintain alignment within the program team, suppliers, and customers.
- Support the program in implementing MBSE as part of the broader digital engineering ecosystem.
- Support development and provide quality review for systems engineering deliverables in collaboration with other engineering teams.
- Manage changes to statements of work and conduct impact analysis.
- Provide technical, business, and integration leadership for program development and execution.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science is required.
Experience: Candidates must have 5+ years of related engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years with a Master's degree. This includes experience in one of the following areas: planning and execution of verification, certification, or acceptance testing; decomposition of government or customer standards and development of certification or integrity plans; or development of deliverables requiring coordination across multiple engineering disciplines.
Technical Skills: Prior Systems Engineering experience is required, including system design, functional decomposition, requirements development, analysis, verification, and validation. Additionally, 3+ years of experience with MBSE, Cameo/MSOSA, and/or SysML is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing and/or managing program baselines.
- Demonstrated experience developing system architectures for complex aerospace vehicles or subsystems using MBSE (SysML/MSOSA).
- Prior leadership in system architecture or lead systems engineering roles.
- Understanding of various engineering analyses, including affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, and system security.
- Background in systems engineering processes such as RIO and TPM management.
