The Opportunity
We're looking for an
Application Integration Engineer to bridge engineering development and real-world deployment. This is a highly hands-on role responsible for integrating robotic systems, supporting field deployments, troubleshooting complex electromechanical issues, and improving the tools and processes that enable scalable production.
The ideal candidate enjoys working directly with hardware, collaborating across engineering disciplines, and solving challenging problems that span software, electronics, mechanics, and customer operations.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of hands-on experience integrating, configuring, or supporting complex electromechanical systems
- Strong experience with mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, and systems integration
- Experience troubleshooting hardware, electrical, and software issues using structured root cause analysis
- Experience working with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Onshape, or equivalent
- Comfortable working in Linux environments using command-line tools
- Experience documenting technical procedures, build instructions, and troubleshooting guides
- Strong understanding of engineering change processes and configuration management
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in fast-paced engineering environments
- Hands-on experience with automotive tire changing and wheel balancing equipment
Desired Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline
- Experience working in robotics, industrial automation, or manufacturing environments
- Experience supporting startup or rapidly growing hardware organizations
- Familiarity with robotic motion systems, sensors, actuators, and control hardware
- Experience with 3D printing, machining, welding, or rapid prototyping
- Experience creating technical training documentation and standard operating procedures
- Military or technical service background involving vehicle or mechanical systems
- Experience mentoring technicians and supporting production build activities
What You Will Be Doing
- Own and maintain configuration libraries supporting multiple hardware platforms and vehicle variants
- Validate system configurations and continuously improve deployment processes
- Design and fabricate fixtures, tools, and prototype hardware that improve build quality and efficiency
- Support mechanical prototyping through fabrication, assembly, and component selection
- Assemble complete robotic systems including mechanical, electrical, and sensor subsystems
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and systems engineering teams to resolve integration challenges
- Document engineering changes, recommend Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) improvements, and support continuous product refinement
- Commission robotic systems at customer sites and support production deployments
- Perform field diagnostics, collect operational data, and identify opportunities for product improvement
- Train technicians and field personnel on build procedures, troubleshooting, and safe equipment operation
