A large, highly regulated healthcare organization is seeking a Security Engineer II to help maintain a secure enterprise computing environment. This individual will implement and support security technologies, services, policies, and procedures designed to protect information assets from internal and external threats. The role requires hands-on experience supporting endpoint security across Windows, macOS, Linux, and mobile environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, install, maintain, and provide technical support for enterprise security technologies across Windows, macOS, and Linux environments.
- Support the organization's broader security strategy and contribute to the ongoing maintenance of enterprise IT systems.
- Assist with implementing mobile business solutions and emerging technologies across Windows, macOS, iOS, and Linux platforms.
- Implement, configure, and maintain security software and supporting systems.
- Support third-party application patching, vulnerability scanning, and risk mitigation activities.
- Review system logs and reports to identify recurring security issues, errors, and potential vulnerabilities.
- Perform root-cause analysis and assist with the resolution of complex technical and security-related issues.
- Provide technical guidance to internal IT teams and support incident response activities.
- Develop and analyze performance metrics to measure the quality, effectiveness, and success of security operations.
- Conduct security reviews of desktop applications requested by business and IT teams.
- Support endpoint security health checks, system remediation, and vulnerability management.
- Participate in a periodic on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of related experience in information security, cybersecurity, or technical support.
- Working knowledge of network security principles, technologies, and applications.
- Experience supporting Windows, macOS, Linux, and mobile operating systems.
- Familiarity with vulnerability scanning, application patching, endpoint security, and risk mitigation.
- Scripting experience with PowerShell, Java, or VBS and/or experience working with SQL databases.
- Advanced technical troubleshooting and computer support skills.
- Ability to review system logs, investigate recurring issues, and perform root-cause analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- CISSP or an equivalent security certification.
- Experience with data analysis, trend analysis, and technical report creation.
- Programming or operating-system scripting experience.
- Working knowledge of malware analysis.
- Experience supporting security operations within a complex, highly regulated environment.

Additional Details
This is a primarily sedentary technical role requiring extended computer and keyboard use. The individual must be adaptable, able to manage changing priorities, and comfortable using independent judgment to address complex and varied security issues. Periodic on-call availability is required.
