Position Summary
We are seeking a hands-on database developer with expertise in both high-performance T-SQL on SQL Server and building on a data platform. The successful candidate will own stored procedures and data-movement processes that support enterprise applications, collaborate closely with backend development teams, and lead initiatives to adopt advanced enterprise data solutions. This role involves daily coding as well as establishing best practices and standards for the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers on Microsoft SQL Server.
- Develop and manage complex T-SQL scripts for data movement, including ETL/ELT processes, batch loads, and incremental data synchronization.
- Optimize query performance through indexing, execution plan analysis, and resolving issues such as blocking, deadlocks, and long-running jobs.
- Maintain database schema changes, deployment scripts, and version control using CI/CD pipelines.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and auditability of database code.
- Collaborate with the .NET backend team to translate application requirements into well-designed database objects and data-access patterns.
- Review and improve data-access code from application sources such as Entity Framework, Dapper, and ADO.NET.
- Participate in sprint planning, design reviews, and code reviews as part of the engineering team.
- Support enterprise data platform adoption by building and establishing reference architectures, connection patterns, and reusable templates.
- Build and deploy enterprise data solutions, including semantic modeling and sample queries, to facilitate business user access.
- Prototype and implement additional AI-related capabilities on the data platform, such as vector search and model serving.
- Work with business stakeholders to identify high-impact use cases and evaluate outcomes.
