PC Support Technician

Job Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated onsite technical support for desktop computers, laptops, printers, peripherals, and related hardware in a testing center environment.
• Install, configure, update, and maintain Microsoft Windows and Apple macOS operating systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, operating system, and network connectivity issues.
• Deploy, image, and configure desktops, laptops, handheld devices, printers, and other endpoint devices.
• Perform device provisioning and deployment using Microsoft Autopilot.
• Support Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook and other Office productivity tools.
• Assist with Active Directory user account management and basic system administration tasks.
• Support Oracle client-based applications and ensure proper functionality.
• Monitor and maintain testing center systems to ensure maximum uptime during scheduled examinations.
• Perform routine maintenance, software updates, and preventive system checks.
• Document technical issues, resolutions, and support activities in accordance with IT support procedures.
• Coordinate with internal teams to support technology projects, upgrades, and equipment installations.
• Assist with hardware evaluations, software testing, and technical recommendations.
• Support Ethernet connectivity, TCP/IP networking, and peripheral device installations.
• Provide onsite support at additional locations when required.
• Move, install, and replace computer equipment and related hardware as needed.
• Be available to work onsite, including weekends, whenever examinations are scheduled.

Job Requirements

•  Experience providing desktop or IT support in an enterprise environment.
• Strong experience supporting Windows desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices.
• Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows and Apple macOS.
• Experience supporting Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook.
• Knowledge of Active Directory administration.
• Experience with device imaging, deployment, and provisioning using Microsoft Autopilot.
• Familiarity with Oracle client-based applications.
• Working knowledge of Ethernet cabling, TCP/IP, and basic networking concepts.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues independently.
• Strong documentation, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong customer service abilities.
• Ability to lift, move, and install IT equipment when required.
• Flexibility to work onsite full-time and weekends based on examination schedules.

Qualifications

• Associate''s or Bachelor''s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 4–6 years of desktop support or IT support experience.
• CompTIA A+ certification preferred.
• CompTIA Network+ certification preferred.
• Experience supporting Microsoft Windows, macOS, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Oracle client applications.
• Experience with Microsoft Autopilot device provisioning preferred.
• Familiarity with networking technologies, including TCP/IP and Ethernet.
• Experience supporting testing centers, educational environments, or high-volume end-user support environments is a plus.
• Experience with CAD software and technical drawings is a plus.
