New employees can earn $80K in total compensationwhen working at Canam Steel Corp for a 40-50 hour work week. This includes the base rate, shift differential, overtime, retention and production bonuses.
There are additional ways to earn including referral bonuses and mentoring incentives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
? Perform troubleshooting and repairs on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
? Analyze, troubleshoot and repair equipment - overhead cranes, roll formers, press brakes and resistance
welders.
? Assist with the servicing and repairing of more complex equipment.
? Comply with applicable regulations and the department?s Safety program
? Perform general building repairs and maintenance
? Perform general trailer and vehicle maintenance on yard equipment- forklifts, yard trucks, and shop vehicles.
? Adhere to safety protocols.
? Maintain a clean and organized work area.
? Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
? Regular, reliable, punctual and consistent attendance. Must be able to work regular and/or flexible hours or
shifts, overtime, weekends as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
? High school diploma or equivalent. Technical school preferred.
? At least 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
? At least 1 year of experience in welding and fabricating preferred.
? Knowledge of overhead cranes, bearings, hydraulics, and drives
? Must have low voltage electrical knowledge.
? Experience in operating, troubleshooting and repairing various types of production machinery in a
manufacturing environment.
? Basic PLC knowledge/experience.
? Basic automotive/trailer maintenance knowledge.
? Must have basic knowledge of lockout tag out and proper PPE.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
? Frequent communication with others to exchange information.
? Standing for most of the shift, walking, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
? Reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
? Frequent repetition of motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
? Frequent moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
? Frequent lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
? Constantly thinking and processing information.
? Constantly maintaining concentration and focus on tasks.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
? Manufacturing floor with machinery.
? Exposure to airborne particles, loud noises, and extreme heat and cold.
? Use of personal protection equipment is required.
