Job Description Summary:We are seeking a Senior Electronics Design Engineer to join the Embedded Electronics group. As a senior member of the technical staff, the candidate will play a critical role in the development of next generation processing, computing and sensor/actuator hardware within the electronics division. Members of the Embedded Electronics group support a variety of multi-disciplinary programs lasting an average of 12 to 18 months each. In addition to working on sponsored programs, group members are also encouraged to develop and participate in internally funded research and development programs. The ideal candidate is someone who works well in multi-functional teams and has recent experience crafting sophisticated electronic systems using commercial off-the-shelf FGPAs, processors, or systems on a chip (SOCs). It is expected that this engineer can start quickly on sophisticated PCB designs including digital electronics, sensor interfaces, and power distribution design with limited oversight and learning curve. This is an electrical engineering position, focused mainly on the development of electronic hardware. The ability to program FPGAs and microcontrollers is expected only at a level required to understand the design of the supporting hardware.
Job Description:Duties/Responsibilities- Translates project and system requirements into well-defined hardware architectures working with cross-functional teams.
- Innovatively solves issues, drives completion of the project to schedule, and collaboratively works with other technical contributors.
- Builds, debugs, and tests prototypes and deliverable hardware.
- Prepares documentation for manufacturing, and provides continuous support.
- Researches and enables innovative solutions for cutting-edge designs.
- Engages other engineers and partners to develop reliable, cost effective end solutions for products.
- Drives solutions to complex problems with limited direction - contributes to requirements development, proposes ways forward, and adapts appropriately to changes in requirements.
- Independently performs complex electronic architectures and designs.
- Able to manage a task with multiple cross functional members and effectively communicates status to project leadership and customers.
- Actively mentors less experienced teammates and provides thoughtful, constructive feedback.
- Support business development and proposal activities.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is
$82,300.00 - $220,000.00
