AWS-Kubernetes Administrator\Architect / Technical Architect:
We are seeking a SAS AWS-Kubernetes Administrator\Architect/ Technical Architect to support a mission-critical insider threat analytics environment for an intelligence community customer.
This role will help operate, secure, and sustain a SAS Viya 4 platform that includes SAS Studio, SAS Visual Analytics, and SAS Visual Investigator. The ideal candidate combines hands-on experience with AWS cloud administration, Kubernetes expertise, and the ability to work closely with customer stakeholders in a secure, on-site environment. Applicants must have an active TS/SCI at minimum and be willing to submit to a polygraph. They also must live in (or relocate to) the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
Technical Environment:
SAS Viya 4, including SAS Studio, SAS Visual Analytics, and SAS Visual Investigator.
AWS cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes-based platform operations.
SAS Environment Manager, Open Lens, authentication and authorization integrations, RBAC,
content permissions, access controls, and auditability.
Required Qualifications:
Ability to work full-time on-site at a single client location in Northern Virginia.
Current residence in, or willingness to relocate to, the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
Working expertise with Kubernetes, such as AKS, EKS, OpenShift, or equivalent platforms.
Experience troubleshooting containerized applications at scale.
Proficiency in AWS cloud administration, including operating Kubernetes-based platforms in
AWS.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical architecture guidance for SAS Viya platform configuration, integration, scalability, security, and operational sustainment.
Administer and support a SAS Viya 4 environment that includes SAS Studio, SAS Visual Analytics, and SAS Visual Investigator.
Manage SAS Environment Manager, including users, groups, roles, content permissions, and access controls.
Perform platform lifecycle activities, including upgrades, patching, configuration changes, and certificate management.
Monitor platform health, logs, and performance across Viya services and supporting infrastructure using tools such as OpenLens.
Configure and support authentication and authorization integrations.
Troubleshoot role and permission propagation issues across Viya services.
Support platform compliance with security and government standards, including RBAC, least privilege, and auditability.
Collaborate with insider threat subject matter experts, customer stakeholders, and technical team members to translate mission needs into practical platform and analytics solutions.
Build trusted customer relationships by providing practical guidance, setting clear expectations, and maintaining strong customer satisfaction.
Maintain current knowledge of SAS products, solution capabilities, and implementation best
practices through product and solution training.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
Prior experience with Agile development or delivery methods.
Analytics, business intelligence, or data management experience.
Knowledge of SAS products, peripheral technologies, and implementation best practices.
Previous federal government or intelligence community experience.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills in customer-facing technical environments.
