The Charleston, WV office of Modjeski and Masters, Inc is seeking a Professional Engineer (PE) with at least 5 years of Bridge Design Experience working on WVDOT projects.
In addition to traditional bridge design, rehabilitation, and load rating assignments, this position offers a unique opportunity to help deliver two major river crossing projects in the Kanawha Valley. These high-profile projects provide the opportunity to work on complex, impactful infrastructure while maintaining involvement in a diverse range of bridge engineering assignments. - A minimum of 5 years of related Bridge Design working on WVDOT projects
- Valid WV PE license
What You'll Do - Review and check structural design calculations
- Perform structural analysis and design of bridge components using analysis software
- Develop preliminary details using CAD software and provide information to CAD technicians for development of contract plans.
- Provide information for design reports.
- Communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
- Prepare project-related documents and internal correspondence.
- Perform and check quantity take-offs from contract plans.
- Review and check drawings.
- Use engineering analysis software such as LUSAS, AASHTOWare BrR, LEAP Bridge, MicroStation etc.
- Able to learn and correctly apply relevant design specifications, including: AASHTO, AREMA, AISC, ACI, etc
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including field inspection assignments
