A nationally recognized financial firm in North Carolina is seeking a VMware Engineer to support its hybrid infrastructure environment at its Charlotte-based location.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: Standard business
- Setting: Hybrid (at least 2 days a week onsite; Tuesdays & Thursdays preferred)
Responsibilities:
- Administer, monitor, and support enterprise VMware and virtualized infrastructure across on-premises and cloud-connected environments
- Configure and maintain virtualization platforms, supporting hardware, and related infrastructure services
- Troubleshoot complex virtualization, disaster recovery, and operational issues in real time
- Support daily operational tasks while contributing to infrastructure projects and platform improvements
- Document processes, procedures, and technical solutions to support operational consistency and knowledge sharing
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of VMware engineering or virtualization experience in an enterprise environment
- Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere and Site Recovery Manager
- Experience with PowerShell scripting
- Strong troubleshooting, triage, and root cause analysis skills
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly with technical teams and business stakeholders
- Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure environments
Desired Skills:
- Experience with VMware Aria Suite tools
- Familiarity with VxRail or VxBlock environments
- Exposure to Rubrik, Dell EMC, or Cisco infrastructure
- Automation experience using tools such as Ansible, PowerCLI, or similar scripting frameworks
- Experience with VMware Cloud Foundation or VMware HCX
