What you'll be doingYou'll be joining CIBC's Commercial Banking & CRE Technology team delivering complex, enterprise-scale internal and external facing solutions involving multiple back-end systems such as FIS core banking application. As a Technology Delivery Lead, you are accountable for maintaining transparency over technology-related activities, risks, dependencies, issues, and status reporting. This includes leading technology triage and intake processes, ensuring the proper creation and storage of SDLC artifacts, supporting steering committee reporting, coordinating closeout activities, and enabling a smooth transition of outstanding technology activities to business-as-usual. Where a centralized PMO or business project manager is not assigned, the IT Delivery Lead may also assume broader project management responsibilities.
This role requires strong technical and delivery acumen, including experience supporting Azure-based initiatives, application development teams, cloud migrations, workflow automation, and structured change management in highly regulated environments such as financial services.
How you'll succeed- Technology Project Leadership - Lead the planning and execution of technology work products for application development and modernization initiatives. Establish and maintain resource allocations with the Technology Lead and Sponsor, define delivery approach, and ensure appropriate governance and execution throughout the project lifecycle.
- Delivery Frameworks & Methodologies - Apply and tailor project delivery approaches including Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, Kanban, and Hybrid based on initiative complexity, regulatory requirements, team maturity, and business objectives. Support multiple teams and business units in the effective use of delivery frameworks.
- Schedule & Dependency Management - Develop and actively maintain the technology deliverable schedule. Identify, communicate, and drive mitigation of schedule risks, while escalating external and inter-project, program, or product dependencies for inclusion in enterprise planning tools where required.
- Support estimation processes - baseline initiative costs in partnership with project finance, manage budgets, track spend, monitor forecasts, and vendor invoices to help ensure delivery milestones are achieved within approved funding.
- Change Control & Governance - Coordinate analysis, documentation, and approval of technology-related change requests. Ensure change management standards are followed, including the use of established processes and tools such as ServiceNow for technology change coordination.
- Cloud & Technical Delivery - Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives, particularly within Microsoft Azure environments, ensuring alignment to business objectives, architecture expectations, security requirements, and delivery standards.
- Status Reporting & Executive Communication - Ensure the appropriate level of detail and transparency exists in project plans and reporting for technology-related activities. Prepare and deliver timely, accurate status updates, milestone reports, and responses to governance and audit-related information requests.
- Documentation & SDLC Management - Ensure all required technology documentation, SDLC artifacts, records, and deliverables are created, maintained, and centrally stored in accordance with data lifecycle management, data governance, and records management requirements.
- Collaboration & Relationship Building - Build trusted relationships with business partners, technology teams, service partners, vendors, and stakeholders across workstreams. Facilitate regular meetings, create transparency, align delivery expectations, and help teams make informed decisions.

- You have experience managing technology projects for application development teams, ideally in financial services or another regulated environment.
- You have hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, Kanban, and Hybrid delivery models.
- You have experience managing schedules, budgets, risks, issues, dependencies, and executive status reporting.
- You have knowledge of SDLC, governance, documentation requirements, and tools such as MS Project, Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, Planview, and ServiceNow.
- You have strong communication and stakeholder management skills, along with experience supporting Azure migration and modernization initiatives.
- Certifications - Preferred: PMP or equivalent, Optional: Scrum and/or Azure certification.
At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of
$125,000.00 - $145,000.00 for the Chicago market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
