Kforce has a client that is seeking an L1 DC Tech in Colorado City, CO.
Summary:
The L1 Data Center Technician is responsible for supporting the installation, maintenance, and organization of data center infrastructure. This role assists with hardware deployments, structured cabling, rack setup, and general data center operations while ensuring adherence to established procedures and safety standards. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced technical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with the installation, removal, and maintenance of IT hardware within data center environments
* Support structured cabling activities, including copper and fiber optic cabling installation, labeling, and cable management
* Help maintain rack infrastructure, including rails, PDUs, and cable management systems
* Follow technical documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures to complete assigned tasks
* Support equipment rack-and-stack activities and basic hardware troubleshooting
* Assist with airflow management and data center optimization efforts; Exposure to liquid cooling technologies is a plus
* Ensure equipment, cabling, and work areas remain organized and compliant with operational standards
* Adhere to all health, safety, and security requirements while working in technical environments
* Collaborate with team members to support data center projects and operational initiatives
REQUIREMENTS:
* Basic understanding of data center environments and IT hardware components
* Familiarity with structured cabling practices, including copper and/or fiber infrastructure
* Basic knowledge of rack systems, PDUs, cable management, and related infrastructure
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
* Willingness to learn new technologies and processes
* Ability to read and follow technical documentation and procedures
* Ability to lift equipment, work in confined rack spaces, and stand for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications:
* Prior experience in data center operations, cabling, deployment services, or IT infrastructure support
* Exposure to airflow management best practices within data centers
* Familiarity with direct expansion (DX) cooling systems or direct-to-chip (D2C) liquid cooling technologies
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
