Mechanical Designer/EngineerYour work environment at EXPIn this role, you will be a part of the
Mechanical team,
for Hospitality HVAC Design projects in the Miami (Coral Gables) or Fort Lauderdale FL office.
What a day at EXP has in store for you- Perform hands-on CAD using AutoCAD MEP and/or Revit platforms
- Perform heating and cooling load calculations with industry software (Trace, Energy Pro, DOE)
- Select and schedule equipment with oversight by senior staff
- Layout air and water side systems on working drawings
- Understand fan and pump curves to properly select equipment for application
- Communicate with equipment vendors to determine requirements for applying products
- Perform field verification and take-offs of existing systems for renovation projects
- Coordinate with other disciplines (mep, fp, arch, struct, etc) for HVAC details
- Maintain the Engineering Calculation Book for projects
- Understand work planning and manage design process to the available hours in work plan
- Understand both constant and variable flow systems, and properly apply equipment
What your experience looks like- 4+ years in designing HVAC systems for Aviation, Transit and Commercial Building projects or recent graduate with internship experience in the HVAC field for construction projects, including HVAC, piping, and plumbing.
- An Engineering Bachelor's degree specializing in HVAC/Mechanical Engineering
- Auto CAD, REVIT MEP familiar
- Good Written and verbal communication
- EIT Certification is desired working towards PE.
