SUMMARY: LAUKOA is seeking to fill a System Administrator position for the Defense Health Agency (DHA) on site at Andrews AFB. The candidate will perform tasks to support the integrity and reliability of supported business applications enabling integrated healthcare delivery for those who serve in the defense of our country and their families.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Candidate will centrally install, configure computer software, and maintain its integrity, implement operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system. Provide recommendations in the most efficient ways to provision physical and virtual components. Support and manage the patching services and patch repositories for all components. Provide administration, configuration and troubleshooting services in support of the local Operating Environments Work with medical Program Management Offices (PMOs) to conduct server consolidation of existing medical information systems into the LCI or the Military Treatment Facility (MTF) or Region-owned IT shared services environment and maintain MTF network connectivity. Manage installation of IT equipment, network devices, and peripheral devices.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage, administer, and provision database environments for use in the local platforms
- Provision computer and storage resources to meet customer requirements in a virtual multi-tenancy cloud and on premises environment.
- Administer centralized management tools to provision, license, configure, and monitor multiple operational systems across geographically separated units (GSU's) with multiple customers.
- Provide enterprise solutions for load balancing, backup/restoral, and disaster recovery for the operating environment.
- Perform required Information System Security functions for the MTF-host medial applications/servers. Centrally install, configure, administer, and monitor/maintain all MTF Infrastructures and IT Shared Services Hosting Environments using government provided remote access and control tools.
- Develop the baseline operating environment images to include the OS and embedded applications.
- Maintain the Information Assurance (IA) posture of the Operating System (OS) and applications in the images, and update the images per configuration, validate function, integrity and distribute the images.
- Manage and maintain self-service provisioning, automation, and orchestration tools in an operational environment.
- Establish and maintain a system integrated test lab capable of supporting a full range of integration test activities for both the currently fielded IT shared services environment as well as maintenance/modernization releases.
- Develop and maintains metrics/reports for medical application downtime and customer support.
- Submit Situation Reports (SITREP) to the COR within 1 hour and a corrective action plan within 8 hours of system outage.
- Provide corrective action and diagnose problems through phone, electronic communication and in-person support on a variety computer, software, printer, web, and mobile device related issues.
- Document, track, and monitor problems to ensure a timely resolution though the DHA approved ticketing system.
- Provide Tier I and II support to end users and Tier III Reach Back Support.
- Interact with network services, software systems engineering and/or applications development to restore service and/or identify and correct core problems.
- Simulate or recreates user problems to resolve operating difficulties.
- Recommend systems modifications to reduce current and future user problems.
- Interact with the Trouble Ticketing system to documents issues and resolutions.
- Provide support for Video Teleconferencing program.
QUALIFICATIONS: - Active Secret Security Clearance Required
- Excellent level of organization and the ability to understand complicated logistical information and high attention to detail.
- A bachelor's degree in a related field identified.
- Minimum one year experience as a System Administrator (work experience may substitute for education).
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
- Apply software updates, security patches and apply DISA STIGs.
- Background Investigation Tier 3, IAT Level 2 ADP/IT II
- Strong skills in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, compromise, and solve problems
- Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines
- Execute as-needed vulnerability scans
