Cybersecurity Project Manager- Banking Industry a must!
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technology Project Manager to lead and deliver complex cybersecurity initiatives across the enterprise. This role will be responsible for managing multiple large-scale projects within the Cybersecurity portfolio, driving execution across cross-functional teams, and ensuring alignment with strategic, regulatory, and risk management objectives.
The ideal candidate possesses a proven track record of successfully delivering enterprise technology and cybersecurity projects within highly regulated financial services environments. They are a strong leader, communicator, and facilitator who can translate cybersecurity strategies into executable plans, influence stakeholders at all organizational levels, and drive accountability across teams operating within Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery models.
This position regularly interfaces with executive leadership, technology teams, cybersecurity leaders, risk management partners, and business stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes and informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership
- Lead complex, enterprise-wide cybersecurity and technology initiatives from inception through implementation, ensuring alignment to strategic objectives, regulatory requirements, and business priorities.
- Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, resource forecasts, and delivery roadmaps.
- Drive execution across multiple workstreams, teams, and vendors while ensuring accountability, transparency, and delivery discipline.
- Identify and proactively manage interdependencies across technology, cybersecurity, infrastructure, application, and business teams.
Governance & Executive Communication
- Provide executive-ready status reporting, including project health, key accomplishments, risks, issues, decisions, dependencies, and recommended actions.
- Facilitate governance forums, steering committees, executive reviews, and stakeholder meetings.
- Drive decision-making by clearly articulating tradeoffs, impacts, remediation options, and business outcomes.
- Ensure leadership maintains visibility into project performance, emerging risks, and critical milestones.
Risk, Compliance & Control Management
- Establish and maintain rigorous Risk, Action, Issue, and Decision (RAID) management processes.
- Proactively identify, assess, escalate, and mitigate delivery risks, cybersecurity concerns, regulatory impacts, operational risks, and control-related issues.
- Ensure project execution aligns with internal policies, cybersecurity standards, audit requirements, and regulatory expectations.
- Partner with Cybersecurity, Risk Management, Compliance, and Audit teams to address findings, remediation efforts, and project governance requirements.
Project Planning & Delivery Excellence
- Translate cybersecurity roadmaps, risk priorities, regulatory commitments, and strategic initiatives into detailed, executable delivery plans.
- Monitor project performance, budget utilization, delivery metrics, and resource capacity to ensure objectives are achieved.
- Drive issue resolution, remove obstacles, and maintain delivery momentum across competing priorities.
- Promote project management, best practices, consistency, and operational excellence across the portfolio.
Documentation & Audit Readiness
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and audit-ready project artifacts including project plans, RAID logs, decision records, status reports, dependency trackers, meeting minutes, and governance materials.
- Ensure documentation supports transparency, traceability, accountability, and compliance requirements.
- Champion disciplined change management and adherence to established project management standards and controls.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor''s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 7+ years of project or program management experience leading complex enterprise technology initiatives.
- 5+ years of experience delivering projects within the banking or financial services.
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale technology transformation initiatives with significant cross-functional dependencies.
- Exceptional executive communication, stakeholder management, facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to influence without authority and effectively lead across matrixed organizations.
- Experience developing and maintaining complex project plans, schedules, dependency management processes, and executive reporting.
- Strong knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading cybersecurity initiatives such as vulnerability management, security transformation, identity and access management (IAM), cloud security, cyber resiliency, data protection, security operations, application security, or regulatory remediation projects.
- Understanding of cybersecurity concepts, controls, governance, risk management, and regulatory environments.
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile certification, or equivalent certification.
- Experience working with Cybersecurity, Risk Management, Audit, Compliance, and Regulatory Affairs teams within a financial institution.
- Experience supporting regulatory examinations, internal audits, remediation projects, or risk reduction initiatives.
- Familiarity with enterprise project management tools such as Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, Microsoft Project, and SharePoint.
