Location: Dallas, Texas (Hybrid)
Role Overview
The primary responsibilities of this role include developing virtual data integration solutions, analyzing and optimizing existing integration queries and views, and developing new Denodo platform monitoring processes. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to proactively optimize long-running queries and provide functional documentation. The ideal candidate brings over four years of advanced SQL querying experience, a solid grasp of data modeling, and expertise in troubleshooting performance issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Create base views, derived views, integration views, and summary views.
- Write queries using SQL and VQL, including data transformations and data integration queries.
- Proactively work with teams who have long-running queries to help optimize them.
- Actively develop and implement new monitoring views and dashboards for the Denodo platform.
- Work with functional teams to develop new virtual data integration solutions.
- Create functional and technical documentation for Denodo data solutions.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of SQL experience working with OLTP, Data Warehouse and Big Data databases.
- 4+ years in a Data Analyst/Data Engineer/SQL Developer role.
- 2+ years writing medium to complex SQL queries/stored procedures.
- 2+ years of experience with Denodo.
- Experience with query optimization techniques.
- Experience developing and supporting REST and SOAP API data services.
- Experience in troubleshooting data quality and performance issues.
- Experience working in agile teams.
- Experience working with ticketing tools like Jira.
- Experience working with code versioning tools like GitLab.
- A strong understanding of data modeling, including dimensional modeling concepts.
- A strong understanding of data integrity concepts.
- Good communication skills.
- Must be self-motivated.
- Works well in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to ETL tools like Informatica ETL and Ab Initio is a plus.
- Previous experience with Python development is a plus.
- Previous experience with Master Data Management tools is a plus.
- Big Data Experience is a plus (Hadoop, MongoDB).
- Postgres and Cloud Experience is a plus.
